چکیده
Physiologically, a hallmark of biological hydrogels is their ability to selectively trap diffusing molecules and particles. And indeed, there now increasing interest in using selective hydrogel barriers for applications biomedicine medical engineering. However, when employing synthetic polymers create with permeabilities, controlling the type strength ensuing filtration process difficult. Here, we generate hybrid gels adjustable selectivity profiles by mixing series (bio-)macromolecules agarose. Depending on concentration incorporated macromolecules, those achieve retardation diffusive translocation either positively or negatively charged dextrans at both, acidic neutral pH. Furthermore, demonstrate three strategies that provide sequestered patches cationic anionic binding sites, thus creating symmetric charge (i.e., electrostatic bandpass) filters which still allow pass. Moreover, such agarose matrices offer high level versatility as permeability can be tailored will integrating macromolecules desired physico-chemical properties. Thus, agarose-based may serve powerful platform engineer versatile materials broad range future field biomedical

Modified Gellan Gum hydrogels with tunable physical and mechanical properties.
Gellan Gum (GG) has been recently proposed for tissue engineering applications. GG hydrogels are produced by physical crosslinking methods induced by temperature variation or by the presence of divalent cations. However, physical crosslinking methods may yield hydrogels that become weaker in physiological conditions due to the exchange of divalent cations by monovalent ones. Hence, this work pr...
متن کاملOligo(amidoamine)s hydrogels with tunable gel properties.
A series of oligo(amidoamine)s (OAAs) that can be reversibly switched between sol and gel phases upon changes in pH and temperature have been synthesized and characterized. Their viscoelastic properties were significantly increased upon increasing the number of methylene groups, implying that viscoelasticity could clearly be tuned at the molecular level.
متن کاملRheology of Block Copolypeptide Solutions: Hydrogels with Tunable Properties
Amphiphilic block copolypeptides were prepared through transition-metal-mediated polymerization of amino acid N-carboxyanhydrides. In aqueous solution these materials form strong hydrogels at low concentrations. The self-assembly process that is responsible for gelation was investigated by measuring the rheological properties of the gels for a variety of molecular architectures: poly-L-lysineb-...

Understanding the relevant permeability properties of ultrafiltration membranes is facilitated by using materials and procedures that allow a high degree of control on morphology and chemical composition. Here we present the first study on diffusion permeability through gyroid nanoporous cross-linked 1,2-polybutadiene (1,2-PB) membranes with uniform pores that, if needed, can be rendered hydrop...
